Appointment, a Horse's Healing

Late summer of the year 2000, an appointment
with Bob D the Farrier.  Its was somewhat of a dry
summer and dust was a bit bothersome.
Upon his arrival, he did his work in order as
always, the more difficult to work on first, then the
rest in order to the easiest.
Minutes before his coming, a three month
beautiful paint (yellow and white) colt ran into a
wire fence.  Putting a wire cut into his chest, bad
enough to have the Vet out, only my Vet at the
time was unreachable by any means I tried.
Showing Bob the colt, he then gave a Vets
name, assured me that he would make that house
call, and he did. This Vet arrived by the second
horse that Bob was to work on.
While fixing the colts injury the Vet noticed
Dusty coughing, a very dry cough, which I took
note of a few days before.  And figured it was just
the dust and the cough would go away if I moistened
his food, was still a bother but not as bad.
After his examination of Dusty came his report,
Dusty had COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease) the same found in the human race.  Not
a good report by any means.
His treatment was not of the cheerful kind, wet
his food, moist climate, shots of steriods for a life
time.
Not long after this an event took place in Denver
"The Denver Horse Expo".  Of course most horse
lovers attend, as well as did I.
Crusing up and down the isles, cause at anyplace
with crowds, moss dosn't grow under my feet.
Walked right passed one isle cause while glancing
down, that isle I saw nothing of insterest.
However about the middle or the isle I choose to
view.  I smelled a delightful, yet very strong aroma.
That odor was coming from the isle I had chosen to
bypass.
Indeed I walked to where the odor came.  Asked
what I was smelling, a reply came Essential Oils.
First words out of this mouth, whats that?  With kind
words they explained what an oil was, and more than
that, how they worked.  And on the healing properties
of these oils.
To which I told them about Dusty and his health
problem, and the treatment from the Vet.  And the
hopelessness of the situation for a cure.
I was told there was no real cure, however his
life could be alot easier if I were to use 3 essential
oils, allowing the horse to breath them in through
his nose, called aroma theropy.
Now I love that horse, and I was willing to try just
about anything to relieve his distress.
So I bought 3 oils, Frankincense, Peppermint, and
Bergamot.
Dusty smelled each oil, until he pulled away, the
time spent smelling was maybe 10 moinutes at the
most each day.  Put the bottle right into his nose,
which later I found that its wasn't a good idea cause
the horse might try to eat the bottle.  Not Dusty, to
this very day, the first sign of a cough, that bottle
goes into his nose.  After all he owns those bottles,
I love that horse, but not his coddies.
After the first month he coughed once in awhile
yet was unrideable.  The second month, coughed
after a long walking ride. The third month he was
rideable for long periods, even running which he
likes to do.  At any sign of a cough, off I come and
in goes the oils.
He is now 15 years old, I still ride but use him
mostly as a trainer for beginning riders, just cause
he is so sweet.
I myself use this oils for my needs, low thyroid,
headaches, fevers, acid reflux, all mecidal needs.
Of course I see the Doc first to find the problem,
then the desk reference and oils for natural healing.
